To promote its social app, Google Duo, the tech giant has resurfaced a Maya Angelou monologue recorded for Oprah Winfrey in 2010.
The ad demonstrates how Angelou's message of love can be exercised through its social app. The footage of Maya was originally filmed for the Emmy-nominated series, 'Oprah's Master Class' - a project that gave a window into the lives of people handpicked for their unique impact on the world.
In an intimate setting, Oprah invited each individual to share their successes, their triumphs, disappointments and heartbreaks.
Eight years later, and five years since her death, Google has repurposed the recording of 'Love Liberates' - Angelou's monologue on the power of love.
"I am grateful to have been loved and to be loved now and to be able to love because that liberates. Love liberates," she addresses to the camera.
It continues: "It doesn't bind. Love says, "I love you. I love you if you're in China. I love you if you're across town" as various scenes play out across the screen of people using the Google Duo app to connect and show love to one another other.
The ad showcases Google Duo's various features, including group calling, sending video messages, and 'Knock Knock' - whereby you can preview video calls before picking up.
