BT has unleashed a campaign that features a cast of fantasy video game heavyweights – including a wizard, a gremlin and ogres –  to promote its 'Keep Connected' promise.

As everyone knows, it is something close to agony when the internet gets cut out, which is why BT is investing in creative to promote BT Plus, a premium package that brings together fibre broadband and with a 4G mini-hub to keep customers browsing.

To push the offering, AMV BBDO have created a spot which tells the story of a daughter arriving at her Dad’s place for the weekend.

Soon after her mother drops her off, it becomes clear that the two share a passion; video games. They're shown preparing to conquer level seven of their favourite game and in true gaming fashion we see them assemble snacks. However, it's quickly revealed they're not alone in the house as various fantastical characters also limber themselves up for the battle ahead.

This includes a giant robot, a warrior queen, a wizard, a gremlin and a pair of ogre twins.

Just after the pair sits down to play, disaster strikes; a lightning bolt knocks out the broadband connection, making the game redundant.

Of course, BT then swoop in to save the day and get them back online.

Supported with a multi-million-pound investment in placement, the TVV advert will launch on Friday (2 November) during Gogglebox, Big Brother and on Video On Demand.

Alongside the her campaign, the push will also be promoted across OOH, press, radio and digital and social channels.

BT unleash a campaign that features a cast of fantasy video game heavyweights, to promote its Keep Connected Promise - an exclusive feature for BT Plus customers.
It is something close to agony when the internet gets cut out. Imagine explaining to a Victorian the trepidation one feels when their favourite Netflix boxset starts to buffer, or an online job application site crashes just as you reach the final page.
Indeed, it’s not the end of the world – but it can certainly feel like it sometimes.
BT’s Keep Connected Promise aims to counteract this fear for its BT plus customers. It is a converged fibre and 4G plan, that comes to the rescue when customers experience an internet outage, delivering a 4G mini-hub in replacement.
BT demonstrate this feature in a campaign created by AMV BBDO, which tells the story of a daughter arriving at her Dad’s place for the weekend.
Soon after her mother drops her off, it becomes clear that the two share a passion; video games. This weekend, the pair are to join forces to conquer level seven of their favourite game.
In true gaming fashion, the pair get ready for the evening of video gaming by preparing snacks - though we quickly discover that they are not alone in the house. Various characters from the game are scattered around the house, gearing themselves up, getting ready for the game ahead.
A giant robot, a warrior queen, a wizard, a gremlin and a pair of ogre twins are just a few of the characters seen limbering up for the event.
Just after the pair sits down to play, disaster strikes; a lightning bolt knocks out the broadband connection, making the game redundant.
It’s lucky Dad is a BT plus customer, as he swoops in and saves the day by using his BT plus Keep Connected Promise, that gets them back online, and back on the game.
